Home to three major higher education institutions, Midtown is a diverse community full of students and other seasons of life. One of the largest institutions is the University of Memphis at the edge of East Memphis and Midtown. The Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium is also located in Midtown and the home to Memphis Tiger football. On a fall afternoon you sare sure to hear the fans on Tiger Line or cheering on their team at the stadium. Midtown is an ideal location for many students to study, work and enjoy a great a community full of entertainment.

Midtown is also a great location for someone who enjoys nature and exercising, as Midtown is home to Overton Park; a pleasant spot to walk your dog or go for a jog.

What makes Midtown unique though is the people. You can experience all walks of life living in Midtown. On any given Saturday, when the weather is nice, you will find people out and about dining, shopping our enjoying the green space Midtown offers.

Home to some of the most top-tier restaurants and superior night life in the area, Midtown is sure to be the place to make those plans for spending time with family and friends. Located in the center of Midtown, stands Overton Square. Overton Square provides so much to the area. From fine dining to the fine arts, you can be sure to find something to do or see at Overton Square.

Not too far from Overton Square, sits Broad Avenue. From shopping to dining, and so many more activities, Broad avenue will be sure to keep you busy in some of the most fun and exciting ways.

You can also experience another part of midtown in Cooper Young. Similar to Overton Square and Broad Avenue, Cooper Young is home to a variety of restaurants, shops and an abundance of culture and cleverly refers to it’s own district as “historically hip”!

Memphis is a city of art and culture, and you can see that a plethora of this community is located in Midtown. Starting with a spot that can be fun and exciting for everyone, our Memphis Zoo. Rated top five zoos in the country, our Zoo displays the importance of culture within the city of Memphis. Our Zoo contains exhibits that display different aspects of various countries; a great way to learn and experience different cultures, all while enjoying a beautiful Memphis day.

Next door neighbors to our beautiful zoo you can find The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. “One of the largest art museums in the American South”, the Brooks Museum offers another avenue for you to experience art and culture all without leaving the Midtown vicinity.

Of course we can’t forget about Memphis Music! The Overton Park Shell, also referred to as the “Levitt Shell” and neighbors to the Memphis Zoo and The Memphis Brooks Museum, provides the Midtown area with a multitude of concerts and performances. Allowing the Levitt Shell to be a wonderful spot for enjoying that Memphis sound.
